We’re located in Dawsonville, Georgia and operate as a small family kennel dedicated to raising Australian Shepherds that are exemplary in their breeding, disposition, and versatility.
Our Aussies exhibit excellence in their nature with loving dispositions and well rounded temperaments. Their lineages are distinguished and their health histories are clear and exceptional. But more than what’s written on paper, our Aussies are bred with your family’s companionship in mind. We love our Shepherds and we know you will, too - from the first whiff of puppy breath to their steadfast greeting with a wiggle butt to the greying hairs around their soulful eyes. Above all, we specialize in providing superlative puppies intended to delight and impress and be the faithful shadow you didn’t know you needed.

Our first Aussie, Asher, left us in rapture with the Australian Shepherd, and led us to begin our breeding program over 20 years ago.
We strive to meet breed standards while ensuring the quality and desirable traits of a family dog shine through in our puppies. Here at Ash River Australian Shepherds our main goal is to match our puppies with their forever home where they will create their own lasting memories and bonds.
The Australian Shepherd is an intelligent working dog with strong herding and guarding instincts with the stamina to work all day.
A loyal and loving companion, Australian Shepherds blend well into their family dynamic. They are well balanced, slightly longer than tall, of medium size and bone. The breed also boasts bold coloring that offers both variety and individuality.
Through the years, we have developed our lines to showcase all the qualities and breed excellence of the “Aussie” while producing a smaller Standard.
